Planning Commission
The Planning Commission works in conjunction with the Planning Director
to guide the future growth and development of the Township. A primary
responsibility is the adoption and amendment of the 'General Development
Plan', which serves as the long-range vision for Township growth and development.
Additional responsibilities include reviewing requests for zoning changes,
development proposals, and special land use permits. Depending on the
type of request, additional review and approval is required by the Board
of Trustees of the Township.

Public Safety Advisory Committee
The Committee shall act as an advisory committee to the Township Board
regarding Township Public Safety matters. The committee may make studies
and investigations with regard to Public Safety duties and responsibilities
and make other changes in the composition of the Committee and its procedures.
The scope has been broadened to include fire protection, law enforcement,
emergency medical and rescue matters, disaster planning and coordination
and other matters involving the protection of persons and property in
the Township. This Committee's recommendations are subject to approval
of the Township Board.

Historical Commission
The Commission shall undertake research, inspection and investigations
of sites, buildings, documents or items of historical interest. Operate
and maintain buildings and sites of historical interest. Protect and provide
for public access to buildings, sites, documents, and other items of historical
interest. Recommend expenditures by the Township for the acquisition or
operation of buildings, property, and other items of historical interest.
Recommend that the Township Board apply to the Michigan Historical Commission
to have any sites of historical interest within the Township listed as
State Historical Sites. To carry out other functions which will foster
the preservation of, and public interest in, the heritage of the Township.

Zoning Board of Appeals
Make interpretation of the Zoning Map of the Township of Caledonia.
Hear and decide appeals from and review any order, requirements, decisions,
or determination made by an administrative official charged with enforcement
of this Ordinance.

Construction Board of Review
Consider appeals from decisions made under the Michigan Construction
Codes.
